Alex Thakore went on a trip to India and part of his trip was to visit Indian Schools. Game Set and Match were only to pleased to give him some footballs, rugby balls and netballs to give to the local schools.

After a very successful day at Kookaburra, having driven for 3 hours there and then spent 3 hours going through the bats and then, you’ve guessed it, 3 hours back, we have taken delivery of our first drop of cricket bats from Kookaburra. Jon Gotham and I went through dozens of boxes, inspected the bats and then narrowed it down to find what we feel to be the best of the best. It was a long day but worth every minute, mile and moment.

They are in store and already selling as people know we pick the best bats we think from their 15,000 available. Great middles, superb pick-ups and clean and even grains are what we look for.

It was worth the journey as we have hand picked the finest bat selection possible from an already great range from Kookaburra.

Massive thanks to Mark “Jacko” for his time and considerable skills with the bats and the fork-lift truck!!

Sussex Over 50’s are off to Gambia on Cricket Tour and are asking for our support to take old cricket bats, pads and gloves out to give away.

If you have any old cricket equipment gathering dust, bring it in to the shop so we can get it to them before they go. Most of the kit will be going to junior schools in Gambia as the Sussex Over 50’s are visiting them as part of the tour programme. All kit donated shall be taken in the players kit bags for them to help develop the game of cricket in Gambia.

Course 1. Under 11. Development Course.

Monday 19^th December- Wednesday 21st December 2011. 9.30-11.30hrs

This is aimed at young players with some experience of hard ball cricket.

A variety of coaching techniques will be used, including net practice.

(All protective equipment and bats provided bring your own box).

Cost £45. Maximum 6 players

Course 2. Under 14 Development course.

Monday 19^th December – Wednesday 21st December 2011. 1230-2.30pm.

Looking to develop previously practised skills, using a mix of games, drills and hard ball net practice.

Full kit required.
